Things I Love – June 15 Edition

June has come and almost gone at a ridiculously fast pace! You know when something feels like it was ages ago but at the same time it also feels as though it was just yesterday? That is how I feel about my last Things I Love post I did back in May!

June brought the start of a new Bootcamp intake, a week working in Auckland, little blogging, a lot of eating and some decisions being made about the rest of the year. July will see a shift back to part time work with a lot of little projects I have been wanting to work on getting some priority.

Without further ado here are some of the things I’ve been loving this month!

Things I Love - June 2015 Edition - Move Love Eat

// Powerlifting Competition
I wrote last month about the possibility of entering my first powerlifting competition. A date has finally been set for the competition I had my eye on and I have now officially registered! 18th July is the date for my first competition and I am both shit scared and super excited!

// Part Time Work
As I mentioned above, July will see a shift to part time work (the hours that are in my contract!). My work is now through the busy part of the year and since things are starting to slow down I will be going back to three days per week which to be honest I am over the moon about even though the extra money has been great. Now’s the time to focus on some other projects for the rest of the year!

That Sugar Film - Things I Love - Move Love Eat

// That Sugar Film
One of our resolutions this year was to get too more movies. We went to see That Sugar Film and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the two of us are pretty clued up when it comes to things like nutrition and the lack of it that sugar holds. Yet I still really enjoyed it, I loved that it had a few laughs mixed in there as well so it wasn’t all serious which means that more people are likely to watch it and take some of the advice on board.

Primal Slab - Pure Delish. Things I Love - Move Love Eat

// Primal Slab
I have been eyeing up the Primal Slab from Pure Delish for a wee while now and I finally indulged. I got it from Food Compass which is a great site to buy your healthy goods from, the delivery was super quick which I loved! The primal slab was delicious and actually kept me full, although at 10 servings for the slab – screw you recommended serving size! For me I found having a double serving was good for me. It was a lot sweeter than I thought it would be. It does have some brown sugar which I didn’t think was necessary but overall I really enjoyed it and it disappeared super quick!

// Bootcamp Logo
We have been working on a new logo for Bootcamp and I am super excited about it! We are going to be releasing t-shirts and hoodies for our members which are going to be very reasonably priced! We spent a bit of time gathering logo’s that we liked and put together a [really hideous] version of what we wanted in Paint. We then sent this through to a designer on Fiverr and got a beautiful logo! I was very sceptical given that it was only $5USD (+ $5USD for the additional file formats), but our designer did an amazing job. Since we knew exactly what we wanted it made it easier to use someone like this otherwise we would have got someone from NZ (like Kate who did my blog logo) to do it.

Things I Love - Just Breathe Scentsy Scent

// Scent of the Month
This month I’m absolutely adoring the Just Breathe scent from my Scentsy Wickless Candles. The scent gives a light hint of mint which leaves your house smelling fresh but not toothpasty! Breathe deeply has soothing eucalyptus, zesty lemon, and a medley of mints which comfort and rejuvenate. I passed this scent along to Christel from Makeupper when I was in Auckland and she agreed with me that it is an amazing scent!

// Gratitude & Friendship
If you have a t.v or are involved in social media at all no doubt you would have heard about all the flooding that happened in Wanganui a couple of weekends ago. I am very grateful that we were not directly affected by the flooding, other than almost getting stuck in Palmerston North after a bout of shopping. I loved this month that quite a few of my out of town friends made the effort to check in and see that we were all okay after the flooding. I also got to catching up with some of my Auckland friends when I worked up there for a few days which was awesome, I do miss them!

Phew, that’s a lot of things I’ve been loving this month! What have you been loving??
