Healthy Lemon Smoothie Recipe

My poor George Foreman Mix and Go has been in hibernation over the past few months as it hasn’t really been smoothie weather (we’ve just come out of winter for my overseas readers!). With a few sunny days raring their head over the past few weeks I have been feeling like smoothies and lemons so I decided to create a refreshing lemon smoothie.

I wanted to create a lemon smoothie with ingredients that you are likely to have in your pantry or that if you purchase you will actually use again. I also wanted to create a lemon smoothie that didn’t have a really long ingredient list as that really puts me off a recipe as it always seems hard, even if it really isn’t.

The good news is that this lemon smoothie is super easy to make, you literally throw all the ingredients into your George Foreman Mix and Go or blender, blend for a few seconds and then drink!

It’s nice to have a refreshingly tart lemon smoothie in amongst all the super sweet tasting ones. While I love a chocolate peanut butter protein smoothie when it’s nice and warm it’s really nice to have a refreshing smoothie.

As a bonus lemons have a whole host of awesome benefits for your body such as being rich in vitamin C and being alkalising for your body which assists in restoring your bodies ph levels. Your liver and bowels also love lemons as they help with the detoxification process in your body.

So really this healthy lemon smoothie is a must try 😉

A quick and easy Lemon Smoothie recipe. A bit tangy with a tiny hint of sweetness this Lemon Smoothie is refreshing.
Ingredients
  • 3 Large Teaspoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Plain Greek Yoghurt
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Ice
  • 1 Teaspoon Honey
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to your blender or mix and go (I use the George Foreman Mix and Go), in the order listed.
  2. Blitz or Blend until the ice is fully crushed.
  3. Pour into a cool glass and enjoy 🙂
Notes
Add more or less lemon juice depending on how tart you want it. [br]If you use sweetened greek yoghurt you may not need to add the honey. [br]If you’re using milk powder I added the equivalent of a serving of protein powder (I used our protein powder scoop).

Would you prefer a lemon smoothie or a chocolate smoothie when it’s super hot?

  1. The lemon smoothie sounds pretty darn amazing… I’m in the process of hunting for something smaller as I’ve fallen out of love with my blender, will have to check out the Mix and Go!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Meagan! I never use my blender these days as the mix and go is so much more convenient! It’s a one bottle deal so no extra dishes either which is a major selling point for me 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for attending week 6 of #PureBlogLove and linking your fantastic blog post, I can’t wait to see what you have in store for our party next week Thursday 8 PM EST- Sundays at midnight .
