Review: Nothing Naughty Bars

Review: Nothing Naughty Bars

As I mentioned in my post earlier this week, I am selling the range of Nothing Naughty Bars as a fundraiser for competing at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Champs in South Africa next month. If you would like to purchase a box (or a few), please get in touch ASAP and let me know what you would like.

Since I am selling the range and have also tried the range I thought I should also do a review for anyone looking to purchase the Nothing Naughty range of bars.

Commonwealth Powerlifting Champs South Africa 2017

// Protein Bars
I’d had the Nothing Naughty Protein bars prior to selling them as a fundraiser (as I should have! I wouldn’t sell something that I didn’t use myself!). I really love these protein bars as they taste delicious and don’t have that funky taste that a lot of protein bars have, plus they taste like a real treat. My personal favourite is the Pineapple flavour which is pretty close to a pineapple lump, followed closely by Raspberry and Mint. The only con I can think about with these bars is that they are chewy, but not so chewy that you will break your teeth. The mint ones are by far the chewiest so if you’re not a fan of chewy definitely don’t go for those ones. The accountant in me loves how affordable these are, the powerlifter in me loves that they contain protein and the sweet tooth in me loves that they taste like a treat. Win, Win, Win! Flavours – , Fudge, Vanilla Bean, Pineapple, Caramel, Espresso, Raspberry

// Fruit Bars
The fruit bars are made solely of fruit which is awesome, no added sugars. Whilst they do contain sugar, the sugar is solely from fruit and if you’re not having a lot of fruit anyway I don’t have a problem with the sugar from these bars at all. These ones are a lot softer than the protein bars and obviously higher in carbs due to being made from fruit. I Love these bars so much but they don’t full me up so I end up eating way too many at a time so I won’t purchase these for myself again – at least not whilst heading into a competition I need to make weight for! If you can limit yourself to one a day or one every now and again then I highly recommend these. An easy way to get in some fruit if you are travelling as well. Flavours – Raspberry and Very Berry.

// Fruit & Nut Bars
I was quite excited to try these bars however I thought they would have a lot more nuts in them so I was a little bit disappointed when I first tried them. However if you think of them as fruit bars as opposed to nut bars they are actually quite good. Whilst they wouldn’t be my first choice they would make a good snack for kids or people who don’t need as much protein but want something a little bit more substantial than the fruit bars. Flavours – Apricot & Macadamia, Cranberry & Cashew.

// Low Carb Bars
These are really chewy and sticky and If I’m honest I’m not a huge fan of them so this review will be very short. There are three flavours – Mint, Toffee and Licorice. I was super excited to give the licorice a go as I love licorice but I ultimately wasn’t sold. If you really like chewy things and either mint or licorice then they could be worth a try for you. Flavours –Licorice, Toffee & Mint.
