Apple Crumble Recipe Reinvented

When I think of winter desserts I automatically think of a nice warming apple crumble or custard – or both of them together!! I wanted to create a hearty warming recipe using the Kellogg’s All Bran Apricot and Almond High Fibre Muesli we received at the July Bloggers Club event. Then BOOM a reinvented apple crumble recipe was born!

I have made a healthier version of the traditional apple crumble before using almond flour as the base which was awesome but sometimes you just want a bit of crunch on the top of your apple crumble. Enter the alternative topping for the apple crumble – muesli!!

The thing about apple crumble is that they are very easy to make and don’t take a lot of preparation time which means you have more time to sit back and relax and enjoy a touch of ME time.

This reinvented apple crumble recipe using Kelloggs All-Bran High Fibre Muesli packs the perfect winter dessert punch as it is full of good things including the humble apple and the added benefit of additional fibre from the muesli to help keep you regular.

This reinvented apple crumble recipe can be altered to suit your nutritional and dietary requirements, you can substitute the butter for coconut oil if you are dairy free. You can also use your own home made muesli or no grain-ola if you are paleo or grain free.

  2. This is the third time this week I’ve seen ‘coconut sugar’ – I’d never heard of it before!!! Might have to go investigating…… Crumble sounds delicious!

  4. Apple Crumble is definitely a delicious and nutritious breakfast !
I was very lucky at the last house I lived, for eight years, we had an established apple tree, prolific pear tree, and sunkissed blackberry vine. All were regularly stewed and made into crumbles when in season. We have just moved however and there is one fruit tree here which is blossoming, a plum I think. Looking forward to finding out and making the most of it.
Thanks for the recipe ! I’m always keen to try a different take on the wholesome crumble and this looks tasty and perfect for individual servings, which the kids would think was totally novel. Cheers *
