Things I Love April 2016 [AKA The Fastest Month Ever!]

April came and went quicker than I had time to think about what month we were up to. Have you had the freakout that we are into May and it’s almost winter yet? Yep, I’ve already done that and come to terms with it. At least we won’t feel guilty for curling up on the couch after work, but I am trying to hold out wearing stockings to work until June and it feels like SO FAR away!

Anyway, back to the point of this post. Every month I share some of the things I have been loving from the month before. Without further ado here are some of the things I love in April 2016.
Things I Love April

Tongariro Alpine Crossing
// Tongariro Crossing
We had been planning for the longest time to do the Tongariro Crossing with a group of our Bootcampers. We settled on the first weekend of the school holidays which was a brave move as we knew that it would be busy and that by mid-april the weather could be pretty hit or miss. We ended up having the most amazing weather possible and it was such an amazing walk! I’m so proud of all the bootcampers for completing the walk!

// Breaking through a weight plateau
One of my posts from almost a year ago has been getting some attention recently thanks to Pinterest which is awesome. I love it when an old blog post comes back to life as it feels as though it’s really helping people. If you’re interested the post is: 5 ways I broke through a weight loss plateau.

Central Districts Champs
// Central Districts Champs
It had been a while since I did a powerlifting competition so it was really good to be able to get back into it and see how I would get on. I am a part of the Central Districts Powerlifting Association and the Champs was held in April. I haven’t gotten around to doing my recap of the event yet as things have been super busy with bootcamp and work however I was really happy with my progress from the last competition in November 2015.

// Workday Lunches
I’ve always loved my friend Nicola’s blog and I really enjoyed one of her latest posts which is all about ‘The busy girls guide to workday lunches’. Nicola is a nutritionist who isn’t afraid to have the occasional treat, which is a great philosophy. If you need some lunch inspiration definitely check out her post here.

Things I love April
// Currently Reading
I’ve slowed down on the reading the past couple of months as things have been so busy that my eyes are super tired by the time I get into bed and I struggle to keep them open enough to read. However this month I have been slowly making my way through Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert of Eat, Pray, Love fame. I’m really enjoying what the book is all about but I am struggling with a bit of the airy fairyness of it all if I’m being honest.

// Scent of the Month
This month I’m loving the Luna scent from Scentsy. I actually didn’t like this scent at all when I first smelt it as it was a bit on the floral side for me, however I thought I’d give it a go as it’s one of my most popular selling scents and I actually LOVE it warming!

  1. Your photos from Tongariro crossing looked great 🙂 Awesome you are getting some good traffic from Pinterest too. I need to use that more. And a nice surprise to see my article in your line up for April. Thanks for sharing x I can’t believe how fast April went either, and May is going the same way – half way today! Time flies huh?
